Lecture in club of Polish National Fund

12th meeting of club of The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management was held on 28 January in Warsaw. Dr Damian Panasiuk presented lecture “Scenarios for heavy metals emission reduction in Poland and Europe to 2020. Cost-benefit analysis”. Results of projects realized by NILU Polska, concerning scenarios of mercury and other heavy metals emission and its economical aspects was published: projects financed from 5 EU Framowork Programme (MERCYMS) and 6 FP (ESPREME, DROPS, HEIMTSA), called by UN Environment Programme (GLOMER , UNEP-CBA, GLOCBA-SE) and called by Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection and financed by NFOŚiGW (MERCPOL – Cost-benefit analysis of mercury emission reduction in Poland for human health and environment).

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW, hereinafter the “National Fund”) was founded in 1989. Together with the Voivodeship Funds for Environmental Protection (WFOŚ) – it forms the backbone of the system for financing environmental protection projects in Poland. Club of NFOŚiGW is forum for change of opinions and discussions on the most interesting and newest subjects from environmetal protection. Cyclic lectures (once a month) is base for these discussions.
