40-lecie Norweskiego Instytutu Badania Powietrza
Z okazji obchodów 40-lecia powstania NILU w siedzibie Instutytu w Kjeller odbyło się 15 października rocznicowe uroczyste sympozjum. W sali audytoryjnej nowooddanego budynku zgromadziło się prawie stu pracowników Instytutu oraz zaproszonych gości. Gratulacje i wyrazy uznania przekazali m.in. honorowi goście obchodów – Minister Środowiska Królestwa Norwegii Erik Solheim, szef Norwegian Research Council Arvid Hallen oraz dyrektor Norwegian Pollution Control Authority SFT pani Ellen Hambro.
Rocznicowe referaty wygłosili m.in. pani Elisabeth Walaas (sekretarz stanu w MSZ Norwegii) – “The high North and the way forward (The Government’s strategy for the Northern areas)”, prof. David Fowler (CEH ) – “Air pollution, climate change and ecosystems. Interaction at all scales”, dr Marcus Amann (IIASA) – “Mitigating air pollution and greenhouse gases. CO2-benefits and future trends” oraz prof. Jozef Pacyna (NILU) – “The role of science in the to policy making. NILU contribution to a global mercury ban.”
