Renewable energy sources in formal (legal) sense are sources using within conversion process wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, energy of marine waves, streams and flows, rivers flow energy and energy obtained from biomass including landfill gas, biogas from sewage sludge and biogas from decomposition of biowaste and energy crops.
NILU Polska is focused on bioenergy understood as all technologies based on conversion of biomass to energy.
Particurlary anaerobic digestion process applied in biogas plants is an apple in our eye. We have got a wide and up-to-date databases of diffrent kinds (wet and dry, mezophilic and thermophilic, one-stage and multi-stages, waste treatment, energy crops and co-digestion) biogas technology suppliers. Our experience may be useful for elaboration of investment concept or its verification. Due to cooperation with selected technology providers from Denmark, Finland and Germany we can find out best solution for investor resources and needs.
We are also interested in thermal conversion of biomass like gasification and pirolysis. The market of these technologies is in dynamic growth. Exemplary commercial solutions for power plants as well as for small disspersed energy plants exists. We are trying to monitoring the develpment of this market.
Another market we watching is generation of liquid biofuels. Particurlary II generation technologies are very interesting and we checking their commercial availability and economical feasibility. We found out that this growth is the most dynamic in North America so being membrer of ACORE allow us easier keep our finger on the pulse directly on this market.
We also take care about process of conversion primary energy to useful form of energy, particulary to ensure high efficiency in power generation. There are many solutions with various efficiency and dedicated to various scale of the project, e.g. gas turbines and micrturbines, steam turbines, piston gas engines, organic Rankine cycles, Stirling engines, fuel cells to mention a few.
