Summary:
The goal of the PGE TURÓW Project was cooperation NILU and NILU Polska with Energoprojekt Karowice S.A. for Power-plant Turów S.A. in preparing the Environmental Impact Assessment Report on Revitalization of PGE Elektrownia Turów, S.A., building of power unit of 460 MW in place of liquidate units.
Tasks realized during the duration of the Project concerned:
- Preliminary study of impast assessmant for technological variants.
- Cooperation in preparing the Environmantal Impact Assessmant for gaining decisions of environmantal conditions of investment.
Within the framework of preliminary analysis of impact assessment of four technological variants in range of emission to the air, the current and prognosis state of pollution around the Power plant was established for selected substances: particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and heavy metals- emission through the cooling tower. The analisys of distribution of pollutants (taken into consideration of current state o fair pollution in region Liberec – Czech Republic) was also prepared.
The range of work for then selected technological variant –pulverized boiler 460 MW with supercrticial parameters- consisted in the assessment of predicted environmental impact for stages of building, operation and liquidation of new unit, possibility of failure, as well as for long-range impact on the environment for: emissions to the air, water and sewages management, impact of the investment on landscape and climate as well as for assessment of accumulated impact for Power plant and other investments.
